The Commercial Awareness Club is created and made for Open University Students by Open University Students.
We understand how complex discovering and developing commercial awareness can be, and the vast amount of resources available for those wanting to go into commercial law. This club aims to consolidate and share information between students to uplift everyone in this community.
We cover 7 main topics:
- Corporate (including financial, M&A, tax)
- Tech (including AI, cybersecurity, data protection)
- Employment
- ESG (environmental, social, and governance)
- Consumer (including antitrust, IP)
- Contract
We have pages dedicated to each topic where we discuss current news, upcoming legislation changes, key cases, and interesting events as well as a monthly newsletter highlighting the main legal news occurring in each topic. Soon, we hope to organise events and podcasts with professionals to allow for Q&As and networking.
Please do get involved, whether it be writing for the newsletter, promoting your work, sharing resources, or contributing to discussions. We are all approaching our learning journey differently and have very different life experiences, which is the beauty of studying with the OU, so we truly aim to foster a space for open collaboration and learning.
